Synima launched in the US back in September 2019, setting up office in Brooklyn New York. Just 11 months on and not only have we grown the team but we are really excited to have also landed our first TV advert.

The live action commercial was commissioned for the launch of a great new childrens toy, to build product awareness, create viral traction and drive demand.

Location, location, location

The shoot took place earlier this month at a large apartment in New York which needed to be completely stylised as well as rigged up ready for action. Filming in the current climate obviously had its challenges. The location had to be big enough to allow social distancing for all on set, the crew had to be scaled down and directing from behind a mask was tricky, particularly with children involved.  Fortunately, we have an incredibly talented crew and had picked an equally talented cast (a real-life father and son) so all went smoothly. We are now busy working on the post production process.

An exciting new milestone

At Synima we give our all to any project that comes through the door as we know how important it is to the client and want to ensure their trust in us is maintained. Filming this commercial is an important step for us though as Matt Wright our New York MD explains.

“This really shows off our skills creatively and visually in a market sector we are really excited about and to a different audience than Synima LLC have catered to before”

There were some slight tweaks to the process needed that also make this job slightly different.  Filming a TVC normally requires a higher spec camera. For this we filmed on the Red Epic Helium to give a really high-quality output. The Post Production process will also take longer as the audio and colour levels of the video need to go through a much more vigorous process to ensure they are compliant with the final output channels.

Next step, go live

The commercial will be broadcast across CTV and Linear in the US and we can’t wait for you to see the final result.  Keep your eyes peeled for an update really soon.
