In 2016, Group Marketing began an initiative, which broadly gave more emphasis to online video. As importantly, the approach of all Aggreko’s agencies was re-examined, culminating in the writing of a ‘purpose’ statement.
A video was commissioned to bring core values within this statement to life. To show the personal side of Aggreko, to those working for them and served by them.
Animated video has been remarkably successful at demonstrating Aggreko’s work but the personal elements in this video called for real world footage.
Storyboard options were created and reviewed in conjunction with our client. A script written for the voiceover section, then a filming plan set in motion, with a global reach.
Our crew (a Director, DOP/cameraman & soundman) travelled between locations in Scotland, South Africa and Singapore. Shooting at Aggreko depots, in the surrounding area and composed scenes.
We cast and employed artists for those scenes and sourced suitable locations. People and places chosen to blend with the reality of most footage.
The shoots went without a hitch. All the footage back in the UK within three weeks of the crew setting out, ready for final editing.
First edits were compiled, then finessed in conjunction with Aggreko marketing. Their enthusiastic, professional input truly helpful at all stages.
Once editing was completed and a music track in place, recording a professional voiceover completed the narration.
The ‘purpose’ video gave a fine picture of the company’s ethos and was very well received. A couple of variations of the final edit were produced, for internal and external comms. These and montages supplied to Aggreko, plus their retained agencies.
All the content shot is on hand in the Aggreko asset bank, to be quickly repurposed for audiences globally. As the content was shot on 4K, still imagery can be used when required.
