J.P. Morgan Brief
J.P. Morgan wanted a video to introduce a key theme at their forthcoming pan European conference, corporate leadership.
An international feel would be required, together with the people who aspire to lead. Realistic video the preference, along with momentum.
We always try to provide a range of ideas for corporate videos, not least to create a new take on an important topic. Out of several options discussed, one with real pace fitted the bill.
Staff were to be filmed offering captions, rather than words speed would not allow. We worked with J.P. Morgan to create a script and storyboard, spelling out the qualities they wished to highlight.
We did not need to shoot the video exactly in the way the final cut would show but our team did have to be aware this would happen.
A picture of the end game in the crew’s mind, to ensure the quality of their work allowed for adaptation by our editors.
To assist with this, shots including the message cards needed to be precisely in the right physical location, with multiple options recorded.
This can often be about small nuances but in this case, rather more. What at first glance may look like video speeded up, offers variations of pace in different areas of one shot.
They worked by coupling them with subtle changes in rhythm, to blend the whole together, avoiding out of context speed changes.
A corporate video of this nature also required a vibrant music track. This and the visual aspect were cut and worked up together, acting in tandem to drive the viewer forward.
As a motivational and focusing intro to discussion on leadership, the video came out as all parties hoped. We are told this went down well at the conference and stimulated notable debate.
