Technology is the fastest moving industry in the world, rapidly changing the way business work and people communicate. Explaining how technology works is greatly simplified by using animation in video.
Eagle Eye is a platform that enables brands to connect with their customers and send targeted offers and promotions through their mobile phones. They asked Shoot You to create a video that demonstrated their platform to potential partners.
The animated video would act both as an explanation of the technology, viewable on their website, as well as a marketing tool for the platform itself. It needed to be simple and the benefits clear, without getting bogged down in the tech.
Showing the unshowable
Animation is a blessing for technology companies. So much of what is happening is abstract, conceptual and out of sight so visualising technology for the purposes of explaining or promoting it can be difficult.
Representing technology through animation gives us a way to simplify it and make the benefits obvious without resorting to jargon or confusing levels of detail.
We used Eagle Eye’s brand colours to create a palette for the video, then combined a simple 2D approach with faux-3d isometric elements for a look that is contemporary but also references classic retro video games.
Pop-up messages add valuable information while mirroring the function of the Eagle Eye platform and we used a three-way split screen to squeeze more detail into the run time.

Eagle Eye aim to allow their clients to communicate with customers through digital promotions. These are sent directly to their mobile phones in a user target way.
Their is revolutionary and replaces paper vouchers with an electronic system that provides data on a user, this provides real time information on users purchasing habits.
Shoot You were asked to produce an animated video to explain the Eagle Eye system. The purpose was to embed the video on the Eagle Eye website to provide a clear guidance on how the system works.
Eagle Eye supplied a script using possible scenarios for the systems use.
A simple explanation
The Shoot You team created storyboard and voiceover. It was decided to use 2D animation using After Effects, using the Eagle Eye brand colour of purple. The interiors of the bar used isometric animation.
