Ross Butler of J.R.A Butler explains the company ethos and personality
Above: A truly professional public relations video: See production details below.
J.R.A. Butler is a boutique agency, providing public relations and communications services to the investment industry. Beyond well targeted advice, their USP is the ability to deliver content to match.
They required a video to promote their ethos and their principal, Ross Butler. For a company creating content for others, the video needed to be to a good standard, concise and with a clear message.
In this instance, we were in Ross’s capable ‘directorial’ hands. As a public relations specialist with a good knowledge of video, he had a clear idea of what he wanted to be produced.
We provided the desired location, with an exposed brick wall, which looks great on camera and suited the ethos.
Ross would be in front of this on a bar stool, a useful compromise between an interview conducted standing up, or too deeply seated, the right focus without any awkwardness.
Lighting would be important with the location and this was carefully prepped, using Dedo and Kino Flo equipment. All soon ready for the shoot to begin.
Ross organised every detail of the content and provided a series of questions he wanted asked, the answers clear in his mind, ready to be delivered.
The preparation and performance of the interviewee allowed the nature of our shoot to be professional, yet relaxed. The right feeling for a public relations video produced for a PR company.
The shoot went well, to the point where only minimal direct editing was needed. To ensure delivery flow and to match in the chosen background track.
We added a touch of animated video in the form of motion graphics, to top and tail the video and to emphasise points being made by the interviewee.
Motion graphics are a great aid to clarity and their inclusion ensured each point Ross made would be consolidated in the viewer’s mind.
J.R.A Butler peppered the web with this video, to attract new clients. Their approach paid dividends, the agency has grown several times over.
Ross himself is a strong advocate of video and chooses to endorse this as a central plank in many of his clients communication strategies.
