As world leaders in mobile power supply, Aggreko are required to offer support in fascinating locations. Shoot You were asked to provide a director and crew to accompany them to Zimbabwe.
Reflecting the engineering projects Aggreko carry out would be a key element, although the video we produced could benefit from being shot in a country with fine, open landscape and a modern city in Harare.
Ensuring you are ready to roll in any distant country requires organisation, Zimbabwe a case in point. We liased closely with our client and at an early stage, the people on the ground.
They would also be part of the final video, so once we understood their roles, interviews with local management were factored in. Our client wanted their input and that of local labour to be evident.
With an outline approach agreed, detailed travel arrangements in place and equipment fully checked, we were ready to shoot on arrival. Looking forward to an opportunity to capture unique footage.
The scale and speed of this project became the focus for our crew. 220 generators installed on a 68,000 sq mt plot within 16 days is an achievement which deserves to be recorded.
We captured representative footage of the logistics and transport elements, plus of course the installation itself. Time lapse and standard video would be blended, to show the rapid progress on site.
Filming background of Zimbabwe proved a great experience, including end users who would benefit from the power supply. Planned interviews with local staff as enjoyable, the stars of this video production.
A little editing should take place on location, to ensure continuity, quality and that opportunity is met, you can’t go back. Even so, turning significant footage into a video of watchable length is a task best managed on return.
Three minutes is about perfect for a video of this type and the hardest part is what to leave out. Our editors focusing on the purpose, the brief, the people involved and reflecting the location.
Animated graphics were added to emphasis key points and a well chosed sound track to fill non interview sections. A video matching the trip and the achievement created for a wide audience.
This is Aggreko’s video and the purpose is naturally to demonstrate the amazing engineering feats they can achieve. The production did this, yet went further, showing Zimbabwe in a different light.
To the people who helped us there and To Aggreko’s expert staff we are grateful. Our team enjoyed producing a corporate video in a great location, one we feel sure viewers will find as fascinating.
