William Glass began publishing a guide to used car prices in the 1930s. His regularly updated book became integral to the car trade and the company he founded provides valuable data today.
Their GlassNet Radar system offers live retail pricing data from the web, a time saving research tool. They asked Shoot You to produce a video highlighting the wide ranging service and the business advantage.
Clarity and accessibility are important for support of this type, motion graphics offer both. A form of animated video born to make data services clear and ideal for this production.
We worked with our client’s technical and marketing staff to ensure key points would shine through, be understood. A jointly produced script setting out the narrative in a cohesive way.
The script followed benefits the system offered and graphics were produced based on the real system. A logical approach and one which would offer a seamless view from promotion to trial.
The Radar brand was subtly included, alongside motion graphics within the video featuring genuine examples. Areas which would interest motor traders given prominence.
We continued to liaise with our client. An on track message firmed up and brought to life in an even flow.
Communicating information well can need a little more than an ideal flow. Timing and vibrancy make a difference to subjects which could seem bland.
A vibrant music track was added, not random, created to suit the audience. Although the production video was fine in a wider sense, this allowed timing to be tweaked without losing logic.
Animated video is flexible and micro topics can be given immediacy without this being too evident. Subliminal reinforcement which doesn’t hinder viewing, or enjoyment in any way.
Our understanding is that viewing was a success and the video played a fair part in promoting a key new service to the motor trade
